first things first.. just want to greet our birthday boy MATSUMOTO JUN, a very very happy birthday! may you and ARASHI have many more successful years to come. we love you!

...no internet at our home due to technical problem so i went out and spent most of the day in the battle. unfortunately, i lost. haha! just tried.. it was fun though.

... went to tsinoy jun's birthday celebration. it was quick but got to see a lot of friends, arashi and je fans. got also some nice souvenirs. i'm sure it was fun.  thanks!

... didn't stay long at the party coz i went to the much awaited event of the year. eraserheards reunion concert at the fort. i didn't buy tix coz i know i will be late but still, i was able to have a great view of the stage and clearly see the large video walls coz we're just right outside the venue at the right side of the stage. while heading for our viewing area, i literally got goosebumps when i heard shouts and then eraserheads started to sing. waaaah!!!!!

    ailamarie, thanks for the accommodation and the great view of the con. 

- learned from my friend who was early that there were fireworks before the start of the con
- countdown on the video wall and then the con started with alapaap
- the stage looked great
- 4 small video screens on top of the stage and 1 large screen in the middle
- 1st set is a gem. old and new songs
- they sang our national anthem "with a smile" in their 1st set
- ely's voice is great
- cool looking eheads
- great music

but sadly, the concert was cut short. after the 1st set, there was a 20min break but it took longer and then there was an announcement that the concert will be stopped. we then learned that ely buendia got chest pains and can't continue with the concert anymore and that he was immediately rushed to the hospital. we were all shocked but got really worried. as of this morning, news was ely is already in stable condition. thank God!

Eraserheads concert cut short, Buendia rushed to hospital

MANILA, Philippines – (UPDATE 8) The Eraserheads Reunion Concert was cut short Saturday night when lead singer Ely Buendia was rushed to the Makati Medical Center after collapsing backstage during a 20-minute intermission of the planned 30-song concert.

The concert’s sudden end was announced by Buendia’s sister Lally who went onstage with Ely’s band mates Raimund Marasigan, Buddy Zabala, Marcus Adoro and concert organizers stating that the band’s lead vocalist and songwriter was in poor health. The band members apologized to the audience for cutting short their performance.

MTV Philippines President Francis Lumen asked the crowd for a minute of silence to pray for Buendia’s health.

“He had a slight attack because of stress due to the recent passing of his mother (Lisette Buendia), and their sound check which lasted till 3 a.m. today (Saturday),” said MTV Philippines and Radiohead director for marketing Ronald Esguerra in an interview with INQUIRER.net. “But we have received word that Ely is now in stable condition.”

Organizers also belied erroneous reports that Buendia is undergoing triple bypass surgery, adding that the Eraserheads frontman actually wants to check out of the Makati Medical Center and go instead to his personal doctor.

According to Jing Garcia, former music journalist and currently technology editor at Manila Times and a friend of the Eraserheads members, Buendia collapsed backstage after the last song before the intermission, which was “Lightyears.” The band had already played 15 songs by then.

Buendia suffered a heart attack on January 7, 2007 and had already undergone surgery.

The concert, which was staged at the Fort Bonifacio Global City open field in Taguig, started at around 8:15 p.m. and paused for a break at around 9:30 p.m.

The Eraserheads opened their much-awaited reunion concert with “Alapaap” and “Ligaya,” complete with fireworks display.

After waiting at the open field for an hour since the intermission hoping for further developments, loyal fans of the band calmly left the concert area after being treated to a thrilling first set.

MTV Philippines’ Esguerra said that while he is hoping for a second Eraserheads reunion concert, there is still no word on whether another one would be staged.

“We have received no word of a Part Two but we also hope there will be one,” he said. With a report from Pocholo Concepcion, Philippine Daily Inquirer

on arashi...been watching truth and kaze no mukou e HD vids whenever i can.. woohoo! love it love it love it! hehe anyway, i keep hearing mmm bop (similar melody and sound especially with the unplugged version) in my head whenever i listen to kaze no mukou e. hmmm.. hehe   don't mind me.  i probably just miss hanson. hehe
HYD Final movie dvd is out for pre-order in CDJapan but no english subs yet.

 
on "the hobbit"...after checking my mail and logging out, i got so excited and nearly screamed when i saw this article -> "here comes the hobbit". my gosh!!! been waiting for the longest time and finally, there's news about it. it's still a long wait though but no complaints. it will push through  and peter jackson will be a part of the movie as a co writer and executive producer.. yehey!

LORD OF THE RINGS filmmakers PETER JACKSON and GUILLERMO DEL TORO have called off their search for a writer to pen franchise prequel THE HOBBIT - after deciding they are best suited for the task.
The Hobbit director del Toro and Jackson, who directed the first three original films, had previously launched a global search for a scribe to adapt J.R.R. Tolkien's classic to the big screen.
But after eight months, the pair has announced their plans to tackle the movie and its follow-up themselves.
Writers Frank Walsh and Philippa Boyens, who both collaborated with Jackson on the Rings trilogy, will join the filmmakers in the writers' room.
Shooting on both movies, which will take place simultaneously, is slated to start in late 2009 in New Zealand, with The Hobbit expected for release in 2011 and its sequel in 2012.

If you read this story, then you might be one of the many fans whose frustrations and criticism compelled Warner Bros. president Alan Horn to issue a statement to respond to fans, regarding the delay of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince's release until next July.

Warner Bros. president Alan Horn has released the following statement:

Many of you have written to me to express your disappointment in our moving Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince to Summer 2009.
Please be assured that we share your love for Harry Potter and would certainly never do anything to hurt any of the films. Over the past 10 years, we have nurtured and protected each film, and the integrity of the books upon which they are based, to the best of our ability.
The decision to move Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was not taken lightly, and was never intended to upset our Harry Potter fans. We know you have built this series into what it is, and we thank you for your ongoing enthusiasm and support.
If I may offer a silver lining: there would have been a two-year gap between Half-Blood Prince and the much-anticipated first part of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, which opens in November 2010.
So although we have to wait a little longer for Half-Blood Prince, the wait from that film until Deathly Hallows will be less than 18 months. I am sorry to have disappointed you now, but if you hold on a little longer, I believe it will be worth the wait.

The moment his lung collapses can be seen in the DVD "all or nothing". He was hospitalized for 4 days and went through an operation, and now has a scar on his right chest from the operation.
• According to one of Aiba-chan's interviews, the most bizarre gift that he ever received on his 20th birthday was a walking stick, given to him by none other than his own leader, Ohno Satoshi!
• Aiba follows Sho even in his dreams. Sho is talks in his sleep about Aiba. Once saying “Let Aiba sleep!” The other time he said in his sleep to Ohno that he should go and wake Aiba instead.
• Halfway watching movie “I am Sam”, he left the cinema because the story was too tragic.
• He loves to read sports manga but despises shoujo manga because he claims to be afraid of " the big watery eyes". Aiba confessed in an interview that sometimes while reading manga, he gets emotional and cries-- especially when he sees people "trying their best". He also reads manga before he goes to sleep and brings manga with him in his bag.
• He eats the most among all the members: can’t stop eating between meals (according to Sho), eats two bentos a day (according to Jun), after having a sushi meal with one of the Tokio members, he still ordered a large set meal (according to Ohno).
• Nino said he’ll always memorise his line before movie shooting starts, but Sho says Aiba memorises his lines AFTER shooting.
